The Story behind Cookie Stash by Ash

Cookie Stash by Ash…
My little spark of love for sugar cookies started out by home baking's with my precious girls. Anytime we would be out and about, we would always stop at a local cookie spot! My guilty joy is anything "Sugar cookie!" I’d spend my down time watching my fav cookiers decorating their sugar cookies. It's so satisfying. I had this internal love sparking in me to try it myself. It took me a good year of processing, praying, and pushing forward before I started this venture.
Christmas break was arriving for my eldest, and I was in charge of treats that year for her school class holiday party. Although it would be simple enough to head to Target and purchase a box of sugar cookies, I thought, "Oh how special it would be to make my very own!" And I did just that! I made my own version of Gingerbread Man themed cookies, in a sugar cookie form. Much to my surprise, they came out amazing! It took me hours and hours to complete, but I put my heart into it, and really enjoyed the process. I received so many sweet messages from the teachers and parents the next day, from there, my Cookie Business took off! I initially started by taking orders for parents and teachers. Word of mouth and referrals are a HUGE part of how Cookie Stash by Ash has become a success. I am truly humbled and Grateful for all of my clients!

Meet the Cookier

Cookier that deliciously brings it all to life…
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, Go For It!
Hi there! My name is Ashalay, pronounced Auh-sha-lay. My family calls me Ash for short, Hince Cookie Stash by Ash. My husband actually helped with the name. His first creative choice was, Sweet Ash Cookies. (Get it ?) He’s a jokester lol. For obvious reasons, I went with Cookie Stash by Ash.
I’m a Wife, Mother of three beautiful girls, and a Cookier by night. I work a full-time job for a family doctor practice. I truly love my work family. I get all my creativeness from my Mother. She would be so proud of all that I’ve accomplished. She had this gift of making something beautiful out of nothing . I’ve always admired her for that. I love sugar cookies, interior design, dancing with my girls, cooking, and hosting gatherings for my loved ones. Disney movies are my favorite. My girls and I wish we could live at Disney World. We have so many beautiful memories there. I was born in St Croix, Virgin Islands. But Dallas Tx has always been home. I’m all Latina and love Salsa music.
My favorite part about being a cookier is decorating. My imagination flows when I’m decorating cookies. I love that I’m creating liquid sugar art! My least favorite is the prep/cleanup. It’s always a frown moment , i just want to get to the fun part! But I love what I do! I always say to my family, “I made them with Love.” My love for sugar cookies grew from building gingerbread houses. Christmas is our all-time favorite holiday in our household. I can’t help but be in the holiday spirit. We decorate gingerbread houses and its always a competition on who decorated their home the best. And of course, Mommy always shows out! It started with gingerbread houses, baking sugar cookies at home for fun, then going into video coma’s, with all the satisfying cookie decorating videos. I knew I wanted it to do it, I just didn’t know where to start. My daughter’s class was having a Christmas holiday party, and that was my push. From that moment on, I’ve never stopped.
I look forward to seeing where this small business will go. I hope to one day pass this love of cookie decorating to my girls. I wish to soon teach others how to pass on the cherished memories of baking and decorating cookies with their loved ones. Maybe one day, I’ll have a brick and mortar for all to come in, and purchase my delicious cookies. If I believe it, I can achieve it! Thank you to all my clients that make this small business keep busy. I appreciate every single one of you!

I have to give a big "Thank you" to my team. My little family!
I may be the crazy cookie lady in their eyes, but they have supported my venture and have been such great help through this process.
My eldest, Mia, helps prep all boxes, labels, and packaging. Middle Daughter, Violet, helps place all sticker labels on cookies. My husband, takes all the last minute trips to the grocery store when I'm in an "ingredient crisis." Leila, the baby (Cookie Monster) gives us all a little “run” for our sanity. We all have to find creative ways to hide cookies from her.
Sweet payment is around the corner for them all, when they get to eat up all the cookies that didn't make the cut. We call them the "the rejects." Its far and few between, but they savor every bite when a “Reject” comes available.
I would not be able to do this alone without each one of your support and help. Thank you my loves! I do this for us.
